Meeting place: At the "Look-Out", North Coast Road
Estimated duration to Blanchisseuse (driving) : 45 minutes
The rating of this hike is (2) Easy
A very short and delightful trek to a series of emerald green waters in paradise. From the Spring Bridge in Blanchisseuse, we enjoy a short 20-25 minute walk through an abandoned cocoa estate to the popular "Marianne River" that will eventually lead us to the first of the "3" Pools which is the largest. Great swimming here that is great for both swimmers and non-swimmers. There is a natural "water slide" at the head of the pool affording a great opportunity to slide into the large pool.
The second pool which is just beyond the first comes in 2 parts where great bathing is also afforded here for both swimmers and non-swimmers. The size of the pool is also large. We do a bit of rock trekking to get to the second part of the 2nd Pool which is a small pool, but also great for swimming as well. At the head of this pool is a large boulder ideal to jump into the deep pool.
The third pool poses a small challenge where we trek uphill from the second pool along a very narrow trail until we reach to the upper part of the Marianne River and a 5 minute trek upstream will bring us to a very secluded and fantastic pool....away from the crowd, if any at the 2 Pools and swimming here is absolutely gorgeous indeed.
