Details on Chorro Waterfall a.k.a. Habio Falls

The rating of this hike is (5) Moderately challenging

This hike is truly nature showcasing itself. Walk through a very quiet Rincon village located in the mountains of Las Cuevas and head on up a steady uphill in open area where exposure to the sun can be a bit of a challenge......however, you will soon find yourself in the forest and the terrain becomes easier as we trek along. Great trail throughout until we come to a beautiful quiet river pool that is ideal for a quick swim before proceeding once again further up gentle terrain until we eventually come to a junction where you take the left turn to Habio Falls, and in our case, we take the right turn to our destination. At this junction, we would have covered 1.7 miles and the elevation here is 643 feet.

We trek at first along a trail filled with overgrowth, so careful negotiation has to be undertaken before finally we are on clear trail all the way on-wards. As usual, first uphills along the way until we reach at the summit and finally downhill trekking until we reach at a small stream. We trek upstream for a short distance until at last, Chorro we are. Distance covered in all is 3 miles and elevation at the falls is 991 feet.
